Data used by the app
- Location access is optional. Coordinates used for sunrise and sunset calculations stay in the app's local preferences.
- Learning history and model settings remain local.
- Direct-edition Ambient Light readings, enabled sensors, and calibration remain local.
- Trial state and the information needed to remember access are stored locally in each edition. The Mac App Store edition also asks StoreKit for the current Full Version purchase state.
- ChillScreen has no advertising, cloud synchronization, or in-app analytics.
Updates
In the Direct edition, you can choose whether ChillScreen checks the product website for updates. Update requests do not include your screen contents, location, learning history, or display settings, and you decide when to download and install an update.
The Mac App Store edition relies on the App Store for update delivery and does not use ChillScreen's Direct-edition update checker.
Purchase and activation
Direct edition: Creem handles purchases and payment details. To activate a license, ChillScreen sends your license key and an identifier for your Mac’s installation to our licensing service, hosted on Cloudflare, which checks the license with Creem. Your screen contents, location, schedule, and learning history are not sent.
Mac App Store edition: Apple handles the Full Version purchase through StoreKit. ChillScreen checks the signed StoreKit transaction to determine whether Full Version is available. ChillScreen does not receive your card details. Apple's handling of App Store account and purchase data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
This website
Our websites are hosted on Cloudflare, which receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address when you visit. The websites do not request your location. The interactive demonstration only changes the illustration, not your display.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our websites, including pages viewed and clicks on download or purchase links. When Creem confirms an order, our licensing service also records a Google Analytics purchase containing the Creem order ID, amount, currency, product and checkout source. It does not send the buyer’s email address, license key, card details or other payment details to Google Analytics. In the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the Google tag starts with storage denied and sends cookieless measurements until you accept. Elsewhere, analytics and measurement storage are enabled by default unless you decline. With storage enabled, Google Analytics and Google Signals may use cookies and signed-in Google data for cross-device, demographic, interest, and advertising measurement. Google may receive your IP address, browser and device information, the referring page, and the pages you visit.
We store one necessary consent cookie so both EEN Systems websites remember whether you accepted or declined analytics. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. See Google’s Privacy Policy for information about Google’s handling of analytics data.
Removing local data
Removing ChillScreen does not automatically remove its local macOS preferences. Learning history and feature-specific defaults can be reset from Advanced Settings before uninstalling the app.
