# ChillScreen ChillScreen is a macOS menu-bar application that gradually adjusts display warmth and dimming around a user's schedule, optional local sunrise and sunset, and locally learned preferences. The application works locally on the Mac and does not capture or analyze screen contents. A Direct edition is available from the website, and a Mac App Store edition has been submitted to Apple. ## Primary pages - Home and download: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/ - User guide: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/user-guide/ - Version history: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/releases/ - Privacy: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/privacy/ - Release notes for 1.4.0: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/releases/1.4.0/ - Terms of Use: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/terms/ ## Current release - Version: 1.4.0 (build 10) - Requirement: macOS 14 Sonoma or later - Architecture: Universal 2 for Apple silicon and Intel Macs - Download: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/downloads/ChillScreen-1.4.0.dmg - SHA-256 checksum: https://chillscreen.eensys.com/downloads/ChillScreen-1.4.0.dmg.sha256 ## Features - Automatic daily cycle based on schedule and optional local sunlight. - Independent Warmth and Dimming effects. - Manual control and temporary maximum preview. - Optional Direct-edition Ambient Light adaptation with user calibration. - Optional local Learning from evening adjustments. - Apple Shortcuts and Siri in both editions; bundled local-agent commands in the Direct edition. - Temporary Pause and per-application exclusions. - Inspectable and configurable Learning model. - Cooperative display-LUT ownership for compatibility with other colour tools. - Multiple-display support and local-only preferences. - No account, in-app analytics, advertising, screen capture, or cloud synchronization. ## Editions and availability The Direct edition includes a 14-day trial with all Direct-edition features and does not require a payment card. After the trial, a one-time EUR 9.99 license keeps it active on one Mac. A 50% launch discount is available for the first 100 Direct licenses; the website applies code LAUNCH26 automatically. The Mac App Store edition has been submitted to Apple and will become available after approval. Its 14-day trial starts only when the user chooses, and Full Version is a one-time EUR 5.99 in-app purchase. The Mac App Store shows the final local price before confirmation. There is no subscription or automatic charge. Both editions include Automatic Daily Cycle, Manual mode, local Learning, Effect Range, per-display adjustments, app exclusions, Apple Shortcuts, and Siri. Ambient Light, the temporal-dithering switch, bundled local-agent tools, and the command-line interface are Direct-edition features. The App Store handles updates and StoreKit purchases instead of using the Direct edition's updater and website license system. Direct licenses and App Store purchases do not transfer between editions. ## Important scope ChillScreen is not open-source software. The public repository contains releases and documentation, not the application source code. The circadian curves are normalized, research-informed reference profiles, not measurements of an individual user's hormone levels.
